The European Commission - in cooperation with the Council of Europe - has convened a high level international conference in Brussels on 2 and 3 October 2014 to take stock of progress and lessons learned in integrating Roma at the local level with the support of the ROMACT programme.
Commissioner László Andor and DG EMPL will host a two-day conference in Brussels on 18-19 September to discuss the state of play and the way forward in the area of labour economics.

It reflected on how these subsidies are being designed and their complementarity with other policies.
The Bertelsmann Stiftung and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion are jointly organising a conference entitled “Economic shock absorbers for the Eurozone. Deepening the debate on automatic stabilizers” on 20th June 2014.
The European Economic and Social Committee and Eurofound are jointly organising a conference in Brussels on 16 June 2014 on the measures taken at European level to step up active inclusion and social investment.
The Learning Exchange on ‘Effects of Foreign Investment on Employment’ took place on 23 May in Ankara (Turkey).
The conference on Mobilising Social Policy Innovation, held on 19 and 20 May in Brussels, showed broad agreement amongst the participants on the need for social policy innovation and social enterprises to be given a greater role in delivering the social outcomes European citizens expect.
To celebrate Europe Day in the weeks leading up to the European elections, the EU institutions will open their doors to the public in Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg. Local EU offices in Europe and all over the world will also organise a variety of activities and events for all ages.
The European Commission organised a conference on working conditions on 28 April in Brussels to reflect on the results achieved and on the way forward.
