In a world of sound, deaf people are often stuck in unfulfilling jobs or facing a glass ceiling. With the help of the “Towards Work” project, Jolanta Burauskaité overcame her anxiety of job interviews and paperwork, and promoted her talent on the job market. She has now got over her fears and insecurity and gained the self-esteem she needed to lead a more fulfilling life. The video series “My Story” is about ordinary people beating the odds. Well-timed support from the European Social Fund (ESF) helped them to improve their skills and find work.
