Review of recent social policy reform - Report of the Social Protection Committee (2015)  (07/01/2016)

The 2015 Report of the Social Protection Committee takes stock of recent social policy reforms in the EU. The report sheds light on the key challenges facing EU policymakers in the areas of social inclusion, poverty reduction, Roma inclusion, pensions, health care and long-term care needs, and analyses the reforms introduced to overcome them. It stresses the need for an integrated approach of social protection, covering a citizen’s entire life course, from childbirth and related care through to education, training and employment, family and social life and finally retirement.

Portfolio of EU social indicators for the monitoring of progress towards the EU objectives for social protection and social Inclusion  (15/12/2015)

This publication reflects the 2015 update of the portfolio of EU social indicators as developed by the Social Protection Committee and especially its Indicators Sub-Group. The indicators aim at monitoring progress towards the EU objectives for social protection and social inclusion. In addition to a list of overarching indicators, four sets of indicators focus on specific topics: social inclusion, pensions, healthcare and long-term care, and child poverty and wellbeing. The lists are continuously being improved as statistics, data collection and policy needs evolve. The indicators are an essential tool to assess the social challenges facing EU countries, identity social trends to watch and support Member States reporting on social policies.

2014 Social Protection Performance Monitor (SPPM) dashboard results  (01/09/2015)

This short summary report presents an overview of recent developments in the social situation in EU Member States, based on the results from the latest edition of the Social Protection Performance Monitor (SPPM). It is produced by the Social Protection Committee as part of its work of monitoring social situations in the Member States. The 2014 dashboard results paint a picture of little improvement in the overall social situation in the EU, with ongoing disparities across Member States and, for some, a worsening situation. Unemployment, poverty and social exclusion again stand out as areas of concern, despite early signs of economic recovery.

Pilot project:developing a common methodology on reference budgets in Europe - Proposal for a method for comparable reference budgets in Europe  (15/06/2015)

This pilot project, funded by the European Commission, has three main objectives. The first is to establish a reference budgets network composed of key experts and representative stakeholders, at national and EU level, to share experience and expertise on reference budgets. The second objective is to develop a theoretical framework and a common methodology for developing cross-nationally comparable reference budgets in European Member States. The third goal of the project is to develop comparable food baskets for all 28 Member States and complete reference budgets for a selection of countries. Otada, svake se godine na natječaj prijavljuju gradovi iz cijele Europe i svi pokazuju veliku želju i odlučnost za poboljšanje pristupačnosti za svoje građane i posjetitelje.

Policy Brief on Expanding Networks for Inclusive Entrepreneurship  (08/04/2015)

This Policy Brief explains what entrepreneurial networks are, and how disadvantaged or under-represented groups can join them. Online networks in particular offer the added advantage of removing physical distances. The document also shows that by linking target groups with the business community, and helping the networks set up and widen their scope, the policy can provide real support. This Policy Brief is available online in English, French and German.
This Policy Brief is part of a series of documents produced by the OECD and the European Commission on inclusive entrepreneurship. The series includes policy briefs on youth entrepreneurship, senior entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, evaluation of inclusive entrepreneurship programmes, access to business start-up finance for inclusive entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship by the disabled as a well as a report on `The Missing Entrepreneurs’. Synthesis report - Innovative practices with marginalised families at risk of having their children taken into care  (31/03/2015)
