This report presents the detailed analysis of causes and circumstances of accidents at work in the European Union. This publication consists of two parts "Statistical analysis of ESAW Phase III data" and "Implications on preventive measures". The aim of the first part is to describe the situation regarding accidents at work in statistical terms using available ESAW data, and in particular ESAW Phase III data related to the causes and circumstances of accidents at work. On the basis of conclusions drawn from the statistical analysis, the second part provides considerations and suggestions on possible measures that could be implemented in the prevention of accidents at work. It is available in printed format in English and it is available in electronic format in English, French and German.

This good practice guide explains how workers’ exposure to noise at work can be reduced or avoided. Targeted at Member States, industries and other interested bodies, it describes how to follow Directive 2003/10/EC on the minimum safety and health requirements regarding workers’ exposure to the risks arising from noise. In addition, a specific chapter presents practical and specific provisions to help workers and employers in the music and entertainment sectors, where workers are particularly exposed to very high noise levels. This publication is available in printed format in English, French and German and in electronic format in all other EU official languages.

This guide serves as a basis, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, to help choose the most appropriate work equipment for performing temporary work at a height. It will help enterprises both to improve the safety of their workers and to control their production costs. By putting together the “best practices” identified by a large number of European experts, it also allows the players involved in the prevention of accidents to apply the Directive efficiently. This non-binding "guide to good practice" will facilitate will facilitate the assessment of risks from exposure to hand-arm vibration, the identification of controls to eliminate or reduce exposure, and the introduction of systems to prevent the development and progression of injury.
