Privacy statement

1. Objective

The objective of this competition is to attract ideas for storyboards for a promotional video on the EHIC. The aim is to raise awareness about the use of EHIC. This campaign falls under the responsibility of the Head of Unit “Communication", Directorate-General Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, acting as the Controller.

As this online action collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EC) 45/2001, of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.

2. What personal information is collected and through which technical means?

Personal data and their purpose

The following personal data are obtained from this competition:

These data are gathered by DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion with the sole purpose of delivering the prizes to three finalists who would have produced the storyboard that garnered the most votes and for collecting statistical data.

Technical information

Personal data are collected by filling a form in a specific section of the DG Employment's internet site, which is hosted at the European Commission's Data centre, and by e-mail. Data collected through the form are stored in a repository whose access is protected by personal access control. The e-mail system of the European Commission abides by the Commission's security decisions and provisions established by the Directorate of Security.

3. Who has access to your information and to whom is it disclosed?

Authorised personnel in the DG Employment have access to the data collected and have sole authority to read and use it for mailing purposes. They may also contact the users (by e-mail) in case of input error or doubt. DG Employment might pass on these data to TIPIK S.A. for the purposes of accreditation.

4. How do we protect and safeguard your information?

Data are stored in a repository; access is protected by personal access control.

5. How can you verify, modify or delete your information?

In case you want to verify which personal data is stored on your behalf by the responsible controller, have it modified respectively corrected or deleted, please contact the Controller by using the contact information below and by explicitly specifying your request.

6. How long do we keep your data?

Your personal data are used only for as long as it is needed for its intended purpose (i.e. until the end of the competition and delivery of prizes to the winners). Only anonymous statistical data will be kept after this point.
