Magnet module for lifting vehicles by magnet force
Magnetic levitation - the conventional technique during the past decades for lifting trains resulted in high costs for the magnetic system. A new way to arrange the magnets, the Halbach-array, has produced a new, cheaper and more efficient system. This provides new opportunities for future high-speed train traffic.
We have studied the magnetic flow in the Halbach model and have also invented a new 3-D cross-like design of magnets. In addition to a better flow pattern, this new magnetic module also provides the opportunity to control the transverse position of the vehicle. We connected the magnetic fields to a computer program, which shows the resulting field lines. We have called our magnet module the AB-cross magnet .

What happens after the weed has been killed? c
There are a lot of weed killer products with glyphosate as the active ingredient on the European market today. Alarming reports from Sweden and Denmark show that glyphosate has been found in places where it is not supposed to be, for example in the ground water. Therefore, it is of the greatest importance to study how fast glyphosate is broken down and we did this for different environments where it is likely that is has been used. If glyphosate is not broken down fast enough, it is possible that it may escape in the ground water or to other places where it can do harm. Our project has proved that the time it takes for glyphosate to be broken down depends on the environment where it is used.
