‘Clean Sky’ seeks new associate member
Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative (JTI), the European Union’s largest ever research programme, has launched a new call for an Associate Member (or members) ready to participate in the ‘Smart Fixed Wing Aircraft’ work package.
Clean Sky is the European aeronautics industry's response to the need for more environmentally friendly aviation in combination with sustained economic growth. This seven-year research programme will combine public and private capacities to rapidly introduce advanced technologies for the next generation of aircraft.
Clean Sky is divided into a number of critical work packages looking at various aspects of aircraft environmental performance. The purpose of the ‘Smart Fixed Wing Aircraft’ (SFWA) demonstrator is to develop and validate innovative technologies, concepts and capabilities in the critical areas of fuel consumption and noise emissions.
Candidates applying for selection as Associate Member in the SFWA work package will be expected to provide an essential part of the design and manufacturing of one set of Smart Wing flight test articles. Applicants will be evaluated based on level of technical contribution, innovation and relevance to deliver on the stated objectives.
The call for associates is now open and will run until 16/06/2008 at 5 pm (Brussels time).
