The Commission supports research institutions and funders in the implementation of the Charter & Code principles through the 'Human Resources Strategy for Researchers'. This voluntary tool consists of a simple five-step process for developing tailored strategic approaches to the implementation of the Charter & Code. The Commission awards an "HR Excellence in Research" badge to organisations that are successfully adopting the recommended principles. Through the "Institutional Human Resources Strategy Group", the Commission has also facilitated the exchange of experiences.
The activities related to the Charter & Code and the Human Resources Strategy are part of the 'EURAXESS – Researchers in motion' initiative. This unique web portal is the Commission's main information and assistance tool for European Research Area (ERA) policies for researchers, as well as for their employers and funders. The web portal is supported by 37 participating countries. In 2011 the EURAXESS website received 600 000 monthly page views.
