In recent years education has received a great deal of attention on the part of researchers, policymakers and the general public; in particular the focus was placed on the competencies that children and young people acquire over time in the education system. But how actually do educational trajectories take shape? Or more precisely: which decisions lie at the basis of the individual educational trajectories of children and young people, who makes these decisions, on what basis, and under what conditions? The International Conference 'Youth and Educational Disadvantage: The Governance of Educational Trajectories in Europe' is a unique occasion aimed at addressing these questions.
It is our pleasure to invite to the conference on March 21st, 2013 in Frankfurt am Main, Germany.
During the meeting the research results of the EUfunded project "Governance of Educational Trajectories in Europe" (GOETE) will be presented and discussed. At the centre of attention is a dialogue between research, practice and policy on the topic.
