Conference "Impact of the financial crisis on European research"

The global financial crisis has had a great impact on Europe's financial system. This has direct effects on the economy, on growth and on unemployment. And what will be the consequences of the crisis on private and public research spending? Commissioner Janez Potocnik met with reputated economists and other key actors to discuss this issue. Three major points were discussed: The macro-economic effect of the crisis on R&D and innovation; The micro responses that can be foreseen for individual industries, regions and sectors; The Expert's recommendations on what needs to be done.
