Presentations by leading academics will examine pressing areas in economic policy making, at both the European and global levels.
This high-level event will be divided into four strands:
This meeting has been organised by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) in collaboration with the academics involved in the PEGGED project ('Politics, Economics and Global Governance: the European Dimension') which is funded by the European Commission's FP7 Programme. PEGGED consists of a collaborative group of Europe-wide researchers who are investigating the politics and economics of global governance, at both the European and world-wide levels.
This meeting will present officials in the European Commission and other participants with ideas from the research done within the PEGGED Programme in each of four areas: macroeconomics, finance, trade and migration. The morning session will concentrate on issues concerning trade and migration; issues concerning macroeconomics and finance will be discussed in the afternoon.
The meeting will be useful to officials and other participants, both in contributing new research ideas, and in formulating actual proposals for policy.
