Carmen Vela (born 1955) is manager director at INGENASA, a small
biotechnology company based in Madrid (Spain). She is biochemistry
by training with eighteen years of research experience and actively
involved in several projects in immunology and virology. She is
author of several patents granted in Europe and US. She is an expert
from the small and medium enterprise industry border on Biotechnology
in national and European programmes and organisations. She is member
of the Advisor Committee of the Spanish Minister of Science and
Technology and the EAG of Cell Factory. She was member of the second
European Science and Technology Assembly (ESTA) and of the ETAN
Group of Women and Science.
