Erika MANN

"Women who occupy high level positions have not only the qualifications, but also the duty of sharing their knowledge and experience in this debate about gender diversity in the key field that is industrial research. In addition, it is crucial for the EU to encourage industrial research by the private sector."

Ms. Erika Mann has been Member of the European Parliament since 1994.

Ms. Mann is Member of:

• Committee on Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy
• Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development
• Temporary committee on Foot and Mouth desease
• Delegation for Relations with the Countries of South Asia and the South Asia Association for Regional Co-operation

Ms. Mann is standing rapporteur for transatlantic relations. Furthermore she is spokeswoman for WTO-matters and co-ordinates present issues in this field for the PSE.

Moreover, Ms. Mann concentrates on information society, electronic commerce, telecommunication policy and competition policy

Among Ms. Mann's various commitments we find chairmanship of the Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN), member of the board of Kangaroo Working Group on Telecoms & Information Society, founding member and co-chair of the European Internet Foundation and membership of the board in the Information Society Forum of the European Commission.

She was former chairman of the Delegation for Relations with Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova.
