Professional (research) experience:
Her field of research and expertise
is History & Philosophy of Science, Science Studies,
and Gender Studies.
She has 18 year long professional
experience in full-time research on a post-doctoral
level and 3 years PhD studies.
She has authored two monographs:
"University and Physicists: The Beginning"
(Physics in Bulgaria at the turn of the century),
Heron Press, Sofia, 2000, and "Postmodern Science
and Its Critics: On Einstein-Bohr Debate and A. Sokal
Affair", Heron Press, Sofia, 1998, and co-authored
the book: "World Yearbook of Education 1994:
The Gender Gap in Higher Education, (Eds. S.Lie and
L.Malik), London-Philadelphia, Kogan Page Ltd., 1994
(in English), and she has about 70 articles and papers
published in Bulgarian, Russian, English and French.
Her research project "Physics
in Bulgaria over the period 1890-1912" was awarded
a three year research grant by the National Fund for
Scientific Research in Bulgaria.
Experience in European
collaborative research projects:
Since 1989 (the onset of political
changes in my country) she has had the opportunity
to apply for different Fellowships to many Western
universities and scholar institutions. Over the last
five years her research projects have been awarded
the following research grants:
- In 2002: DAAD Fellowship,
Berlin, Germany;

In 2000: A short-term research grant from
the National Research Council of USA, USA;

In 1999: A three-month Research Fellowship
from the Research Institute of the Deutsches Museum,
München, Germany; (It was realized in 2001)
- In 1998: A two-week
Visiting Fellowship to The University of
Amsterdam, Department of Science Dynamics, The
Netherlands from the NUFFIC;

In 1997: An 8-month Research Fellowship from
the Ministere de l'Enseignement Superieur et de la
Recherche, CNRS, Paris, France;

In 1996: A NATO Research Fellowship (a
supporting grant to a research project for a
two-year period 1996-1998); one month Visiting
Fellowship to Lund, Uppsala and Gothenburg
Universities (September 1996) from The Swedish
Institute and The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences,
Sweden.
She participated in an International
collaborative research project "The Gender Gap
in Higher Education", which was funded by the
Norwegian Research Council, Norway. The outcomes of
this study appeared in the book: "World Yearbook
of Education 1994: The Gender Gap in Higher Education,
(Eds. S. Lie and L. Malik), London-Philadelphia, Kogan
Page Ltd., 1994 (in English). Recently I visited Prof.
Dr. Stephen Brush, a distinguished historian of science
from University of Maryland, in order to discuss the
opportunity to initiate a collaborative research project
for further funding by NSF, USA.
Also, since 1989 she has had the
opportunity to participate in numerous International
Conferences and Congresses in my field (usually through
participation grants offered by their organizers)
held in Germany, Belgium, Austria, Norway, Denmark,
The Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Turkey,
etc.
