Prof. Marina CALLONI

Marina Calloni is full professor of social and political philosophy at the State University of Milano-Bicocca and director of the "International Network for Research in Gender".

After a "laurea" in Philosophy at the University of Milan, she received a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Pavia, and a Ph.D. in Social andPolitical Science at the European University Institute in Florence.

She was a research fellow at the University of Frankfurt and senior researcher at the Gender Institute of the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, where she initiated the "European Network". She was visiting professor at the Universities of Bremen, Vienna, Lugano, Hannover, Tirana and Beijing. She is co-founder of the School of Politics "Aleksandra Kollontai" based at the Pomor University in Arkhangelsk (in the Barents Region of North-West Russia). She was project manager of a programme devoted to the establishment of a Gender Institute at the University of Tirana, supported by the United Nations and the Italian Foreign Ministry.

Her main topics concerns: social and political philosophy; philosophy of social sciences; gender issues; theories of ethics, politics and justice; democracy and cultural conflicts; European citizenship and mobility; international research networks.

She has participated in several international researches and cross borders networks, collaborating with universities, research centres, NGOs and supra-national institutions. She has widely published books and papers in several languages and countries.
