Our activities
The main task of the Enwise Expert
Group was to produce a report, which would set the
scene, review the issues and challenges for women
in science and in scientific research in the targeted
countries; and, building upon the resulting landscape,
it would formulate policy recommendations for the
different levels of research policy (within research
administrations, public and private research bodies,
at regional, national and EU level) and for the scientific
communities and the scientists themselves, both male
and female.
The Enwise Expert Group's road map
included three plenary meetings: a kick-off meeting
which took place in Brussels on 28-29 October, 2002;
an intermediary meeting in Tallinn on 22-23 May, 2003
and a last plenary meeting in Brussels on 25-26 September,
2003. The Enwise final
report was delivered to the Commission on 30 January, 2004.
Additional activities were organised,
which included the setting up of two sub-groups
and the organisation of three workshops,
in order to implement the project more efficiently.
