What is the role and responsibility of science? Who has authority to determine the shape that science should take in the future? Who are science's gatekeepers, and how can we be certain that they steer a path that is authentic to this vision? The Science in Society (SIS) Programme understands that responsible governance is the cornerstone of a dynamic relationship between science and society. This means accountability to both stakeholders, where clear and consistent processes and systems are upheld to deliver the right expectations and targets.
