Researchers' Night 2012 covered in over 220 publications worldwide

The Researchers' Night 2012 attracted attention of both European and non-European media outlets and beat the record. According to media coverage registered so far, 125 million Europeans may have been made aware of the organized shows and performances during the night of 28 September. The events, hold simultaneously in various European cities, have been covered in over 220 news items in national and regional press, TV and radio. Examples include Czech Republic (Ceska Televize), France (France3), Hungary (MTV Hirado), Lithuania (Kauno Diena), Poland (RMF 24), Portugal (RTP), Slovakia (TA3), Spain (Abc), the UK (BBC) and the US (Netnews ledger).

Organisers of Science Uncovered at the natural History Museum in London, UK, Bereni2012 in Bucharest, Romania, and Energy at the University of Daugavpils, Latvia have posted some pictures with a short description of the activities. Eventia awards for the Natural History Museum

The Natural History Museum (UK) won two prizes at the international Eventia awards for their "crime scene investigation" event  organised as part of the 2011 Researchers 'Night:

  • Gold for the Best Event in a Public Space (beating the televised Royal Wedding in Hyde Park)
  • Silver for the Best Experiential Event
