Founded jointly by the French and Flemish-speaking Free Universities of Brussels (ULB and VUB), DISC is the first Belgian Information Centre dedicated to integrating civil society into the creation of the knowledge-based society. On 23 September 2005, DISC is organising a ‘Science Café’ on the theme of Space conquest – Big money for stars?. The debate, which will take place at the Chateau de Seneffe, will be open to all audiences from 12 years old and upwards and will focus on European space policy and the financing of the great Space adventure.
Former EU Research Commissioner Philippe Busquin will participate in the discussion, together with Manuel Paiva, a professor at the ULB’s Faculty of Medicine, Alain Jorissen, a professor at the ULB’s Faculty of Science, and Roland Gueubel of BruSpace asbl. Journalist Christian Du Brulle of Le Soir will moderate the debate.
The event will be held, in French, at the Château de Seneffe, Café-Restaurant ‘L’Orangerie’.
