Experiments Marathon (08:00 to 18:00)
An experiments marathon will take place on 23 September 2005 from 8.00 to 18.00. The event will be broadcast on the internet by the NIFI (National Infrastructure Development Office), and 2 000 PC users will also be able to receive the programme at the same time.
The programme will include:
- Presentation of researchers from the youngest to the oldest, and from students to academicians
- Physics class for three age groups: schoolchildren, students at secondary schools and university students. The class will be in English and circulated on the internet
- On the occasion of the International Year of Physics, conferences will be organised that aim to demonstrate how physics has promoted engineering sciences (physics and automotive engineering, mobile phones and astronomy; the influence of nanotechnology on informatics and electronic appliances, and the role of physics in architecture)
- Debate on science and false science. Scientists and sceptics, as well as experts from the media, will show us how we can find our way through the mass of information inundating us.
