ACTING WHERE IT MATTERS

In brief : European Union funded projects

The 6th Framework Programme projects listed below have either just finished or are in their final year. FP7 supports further gender-related initiatives that are just beginning. IRIS and PRAGES are two of these.

Changing research landscapes

The conference ‘Changing research landscapes to make the most of human potential: 10 years of EU activities in ‘Women and Science’ and beyond’ will be held on 14 and 15 May 2009 under the auspices of the European Commission and the Czech Presidency. The conference will take stock of 10 years of European Union-funded ‘Women and Science’ activities and will debate future avenues for improving equal research opportunities. A number of European speakers will discuss their experiences of the gender issue. Three parallel sessions will be held on the subject of science at school, as well as on national and institutional measures to bring change to research organisations and the professional research environment.
