A field of solar flowers
French engineer and artist Alexandre Dang is a self-appointed apostle of environmentally-friendly technologies. His recurring theme is the sunflower. Dang'cing Sol'Art Flowers is an installation featuring 1 000 flowers, combining 12 different colours and incorporating a solar photovoltaic mechanism that operates according to the light. This work of art was presented to the Council of the European Union in Brussels in February 2008. Dang, who is keen to raise awareness of the potential of renewable energy sources, likes to work with young people (schoolchildren from the Belgian capital have decorated other dancing flowers). He also founded the association Solar Solidarity International.
