Participant Portal V3.2 (02/2012)
Main new functions of the Participant Portal
Revised role managementThe new release of the Participant Portal has brought a revised identity and access management allowing for more flexibility in assigning roles for negotiation and reporting in projects. All persons having had such access rights before will keep the access, but in a slightly adapted scheme of roles.
What does it mean in practical terms?- Previously only one person could be assigned to the role of Coordinator Contact (who could submit to the Commission) and only one as Participant Contact for each partner (who could submit to the coordinator). From now on there can be several persons assigned to the Coordinator Contact or Participant Contact role.
- The previous (single) coordinator contact becomes the Primary Coordinator Contact and remains the only project-related role that requires intervention by the Commission/Agency for changes.
- The distinction between scientific and administrative/legal/financial scopes for Task managers (with drafting rights) and team members (with read-only rights) disappears.
- Named representatives (scientific/financial, etc.) after the transfer of the previous roles become automatically either participant contacts or task managers.
Please check your new roles, if necessary discuss with your colleagues in your organisation and with the members of the consortium if changes to the assignment of roles for your project seem necessary. The right to revoke access rights to persons or to nominate new persons in roles is restricted to Coordinator Contacts and Participant Contacts.

New functions related to the organisation registrationFunctions available under the 'My Organisations' tab:
- The Legal Entity Appointed Representatives (LEARs) or Account administrators nominated by them can see the list of all FP7 proposals of the organisation.
- Those who registered an organisation to receive a PIC number automatically receive a self-registrant role and can view and modify the data encoded during the registration (after login under the "My Organisation" tab), if the validation of the data has not started yet. After validation only the LEAR (Legal Entity Appointed Representative) and the Account Administrator(s) can modify the validated data, the self-registrant will have a read-only access.
Under the tabs of FP7 Calls and FP7 Documents advanced search functions are offered. The search can be run either on the FP7 Call pages or in the FP7 documents.
FP7 documentsAll the FP7 documents – legal documents, work programmes, guidance notes, etc. - are available under the FP7 Document tab with a search function that searches either in the text of the documents or in the titles only ('meta' search).
