Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, visited the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, on 15 April to met scientists and researchers supported with funding from the EU Marie Curie Actions.

On 12 December 2012, the Marie Curie Actions celebrated the 100th COFUND Research Fellowship Programme in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels. This was followed by an information session on COFUND and a presentation of COFUND success stories.

Maria Skłodowska-Curie was celebrated in the European Parliament in Brussels, though an exhibition about her life, work and accomplishment. The Marie Curie Actions were there, represented by Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, in charge of the MCA at the European Commission. She participated in the opening ceremony, along with President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek and Member of the European Parliament Jolanta Hibner. Later, they had the pleasure to talk to two brilliant "Marie Curie fellows".
