Funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, the European Reearchers' Night (NIGHT) takes place every year across the European continent. From artisanal bread-making to state-of-the-art robotics, the event was an opportunity for all to discover more about science in Europe.

Across Europe and beyond, on 26 September, the NIGHT was dedicated to Science. The last Friday of September, 48 EU funded projects by MSCA and 12 associated events in over 250 main cities of 30 countries (a total of 23 EU Member States and 7 neighbouring countries) converged under a single European Union initiative for researchers and the general public to share their curiosity and interest for science.

Androulla Vassiliou, Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, visited the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, on 15 April to met scientists and researchers supported with funding from the EU Marie Curie Actions.

Maria Skłodowska-Curie was celebrated in the European Parliament in Brussels, though an exhibition about her life, work and accomplishment. The Marie Curie Actions were there, represented by Commissioner Androulla Vassiliou, in charge of the MCA at the European Commission. She participated in the opening ceremony, along with President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek and Member of the European Parliament Jolanta Hibner. Later, they had the pleasure to talk to two brilliant "Marie Curie fellows".
