The round table discussion examined current issues relating to the internationalisation of science: the globalisation of economies and societies and the need to find innovation and research-based solutions for global societal challenges. The EU needs to ensure that it remains an open and attractive partner in international research and innovation. The round table examined ways in which the EU can engage more effectively with international partners for the advancement of science, solving global societal challenges and promoting mutually beneficial industrial cooperation.
