Rapidcool

When you want a cool drink fast!

Photo of the Rapidcool device

Rapidcool was established with the aim of reducing the energy requirements for cooling drinks at the point of sale; saving retailers’ money and ultimately helping the environment. Visitors will be able to chill drinks on demand in 45 seconds using 80% less energy.

The outcome of the Rapidcool project is a low energy use, low-cost rapid cooling technology that enables pre-packed beverages to be stored at ambient temperature and then rapidly chilled. The product is known as V-Tex. Visitors will be able to experience the effects of this technology for themselves, with full demonstrations of both the commercial and domestic products.

Rapidcool is an EU funded project under the 7th Framework Programme for research and development.
