Exploiting the power of interactive and adaptive storytelling to engage museum visitors.

The CHESS (Cultural Heritage Experiences through Socio-personal interactions and Storytelling) project develops innovative and powerful tools for museum curators to create new forms of interactive cultural experiences for visitors. Using a mobile device, visitors to the small scale museum installed on the Innovation Convention’s showcase will be immersed in personalized storytelling experiences based on replicas from the Acropolis Museum and the Cité de l’Espace.

The project’s innovation lies in the combination of personalization and adaptivity, digital storytelling, visual authoring, and augmented reality to create interactive experiences that engage visitors of all ages and types.

The artefacts on display may be experienced in different exciting ways: by discovering aspects through augmented reality, listening to different stories tailored to each visitor’s profile, or playing interactive games.

CHESS is an EU funded project under the 7th Framework Programme for Research.
