Fringe sessions

In parallel to the main programme organised by the Commission, so- called "fringe" sessions will be organised by stakeholders. These are smaller workshops where one can participate in lively debates, ask questions and network with peers. The sessions will focus on themes closely liked to the priorities of the Innovation Union Initiative. They will concentrate on various subjects such as how to support young innovative SMEs, how to create successful partnerships between universities, industry and the public sector and how to ensure more women are included in the innovation cycle.

The following stakeholders will organise a fringe session during the Innovation Convention:

  • EARTO (European Association of Research and Technology Organisations) and Taftie (The Association for Technology Implementation in Europe) – joint session
  • EASAC (The European Academies Science Advisory Council) & the JRC (Joint research Centre)
  • EIT (The European Institute of Innovation and Technology)
  • ERRIN (European Regions Research and Innovation Network)
  • LERU (The League of European Research Universities)
