The war ends, the foreign soldiers depart, and some may well be leaving babies behind... Whether the father was friend or foe, the local women to whom these children are born often raise them in difficult circumstances. An EU-funded research project is shedding new light on an age-old phenomenon, with the aim of providing information that could feed into policies to help them.

The EU-funded COURAGE project is compiling and analysing collections of cultural opposition in former socialist countries, making the collections more accessible for educational and research purposes and highlighting their importance as a testimony to anti-communist opposition in Europe.

JPI Urban Europe will bring together urban development research and social innovation projects under a single transnational call for projects, ENSUF, in a bid to foster growth, job creation, innovation and sustainability across European cities. Nearly 50 proposals have been received.

The TOPTEN ACT project will help consumers make environmentally conscious purchases by selecting and presenting Europe's most energy efficient products across a number of categories. Goods will be analysed from the 16 national Topten websites, which showcase the best performing models in each country.
