Faded past but bright future for stained glass

Glass paintings can be found all over Europe and is a key feature of Gothic architecture. They are not only of historical importance, but have also a large symbolic value for the faithful. Unfortunately stained glass from the Middle Ages is not like the glass from today. These priceless European artworks are gradually being destroyed by moisture and other harmful substances. A research project has been created to improve upon the less than perfect preservation efforts to date.
