Trials Partnership Programme (EDCTP)
The EDCTP is a partnership between
European and Developing Countries to enable clinical
trials for drugs and vaccines against HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
The need for global actions to combat
HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis is a priority for poverty reduction
in developing countries, as recognised by the United
Nations, the G8 and the African Union.
Addressing this priority, the European
Commission has launched its Programme for Action: Accelerated action
on HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis (COM (2001)96: en, fr
).
in the context of poverty reduction which was adopted by the European
Council on 15 May 2001.
The proposition of the European Commission
was adopted on 16 June 2003 by the Council and the European
