Submission of proposals

The submission of proposals for 2018 is open since 18 June 2018 on the Participants Portal.

The rules for participation 2018 are laid out in the RFCS Information Package 2018PDF icon.

The electronic submission system, proposal templates and all other relevant documents can be accessed on the Participant Portal.


Evaluation process and project selection

The 2018 evaluation exercise will be carried out in two steps:

  • The first step consists of the remote reading and individual evaluation of the proposal by external experts (the remote evaluation)
  • The second step consists of consensus meetings with the experts and Commission's officers that will be organised in Brussels (the central evaluation)

Notification to all applicants of Evaluation Results Before 31 January 2019
Signature of Grant Agreement Before 15 March 2019
Payment of first pre-financing April 2019
Typical start date of Projects 1st June 2019


Preparation of the Grant Agreement 2018

The Grant Agreement preparation phase is the last step of the evaluation procedure before the final selection of projects to be funded by the European Union.

Applicants will be informed only in January 2018 about the final results of the proposal evaluation and selection process. Only at that stage it will be possible to know which proposals will be considered for funding, pending the formal adoption by the implementing Commission’s decision.
