Mesoscopic models

Mesoscopic models (PDF version, 2.58MB) are discrete models addressing materials using concepts like molecules and nanoparticles. Molecular and nanoparticle models belong to this class if they group more than one atom together in order to allow simulation of larger systems and for longer times. Also micro-magnetics is classified in this group, as they are based on macrospins. These mesoscopic models explain phenomena like structural changes, thermal stability, domain formation, growth kinetics and magnetic behaviour.
