Cross thematic calls to implement the PPPs
To meet the need for a rapid start-up, the initiatives were implemented in the first year through a series of Cross-thematic Coordinated Calls between the relevant FP7 Themes launched in July 2009 with a budget of € 268 million. This will be continued in the second year and the total European Commission budget for these calls will now be over € 350 million. The Calls are planned to be published in July 2010, with the first research projects expected to start in the spring of 2011. All calls will be announced at CORDIS, where all the documentation needed for the preparation of project proposals will also be available.
