During these two days, the Italian city hosts the third EU Bioeconomy Stakeholders Conference “From sectors to system, from concept to reality”. The conference will gather experts and a wide range of stakeholders from industry and academia, as well as end-users to discuss closing the industrial research-market gap and how to maximise the knowledge-based potential of Europe’s regions in the bioeconomy.
The opening session of the Conference on 8th October will be addressed by Stefania Giannini, Italian Minister for Education, Universities and Research, and Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation. All sessions will be live streamed at: http://bioeconomy.miur.it/live-streaming/ Sessions cover a multitude of topics, from the societal challenges that the bioeconomy can help address to bio-based chemicals and energy, food and feed, the enabling conditions for the bioeconomy, how to measure progress and the bioeconomy as a building block for a green and circular economy – and for a European industrial renaissance. The activity of biocontrol products depend on numerous biotic interactions implying secondary metabolisms. The Natural Products and Biocontrol Congress covers the whole research about the natural components involved in biocontrol processes.
The natural compounds involved in interactions are exogene to the plant (active components of a vegetal extract, microbial metabolite, pheromons) or endogene (produced by a plant in response of an elicitor). Therefore the Congress also covers the research in the vegetal response to elicitors and phytostimulus. It is opened to scientists, technicians, industrials whose research are centred on biocontrol and natural products. The main points of the event open conferences, scientific presentations (spoken or displayed), one to one , discussions.
