1st HBP Curriculum workshop series - Research, ethics and societal impact
10-12 July 2017, Stockholm, Sweden
Responsible research: How to deal with animals and ICT in science – an ethical approach.
This Workshop aims to provide the participants with insights on ethical aspects of the use of ICT and animals in science and research.
Designated discussion rounds will provide the possibility for participants to interact with faculty and deepen the understanding of the topics addressed.
Biopharma meets IT: PERMIDES MatchMaking Lunch in Heidelberg
12 July 2017, Heidelberg, Germany
On 12 July, biopharma SMEs and IT SMEs are invited to a matchmaking lunch at Heidelberg’s Technology Park.
Up 15 biopharma companies can pitch their project ideas and needs, followed by the presentation of up 15 IT companies highlighting their services and references.
The matchmaking with potential partners will be facilitated by a 1:1 speed-dating format. PERMIDES (Personalized Medicine Innovation through Digital Enterprise Solutions) is a H2020 project organized by 3 biopharma and 3 IT clusters from Germany, Austria and Norway.
The project aims at bringing together European SMEs from the biopharmaceutical and IT sector to develop of novel digital solutions addressing challenges along the biopharma value chain.
Biopharma SMEs can benefit from innovation vouchers with a value of up to EUR 60,000 and IT SMEs can benefit from this funding via collaborations with one or more biopharma partner.
PERMIDES offers travel support (max. 200€ for national, max. 1.800€ for international travels) for SMEs participating in the workshop.
5th HELLENIC FORUM FOR SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION

The Hellenic Forum is under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs and aims to act as a meeting point for Science, Technology and Innovation building bridges with scientists abroad, in order to enhance scientific and technological transfer collaboration for innovation.
The Forum will cover a broad range of topics including Nanotechnology, Energy & Environment, Life Sciences, ICT , Particle Physics, Cultural Heritage with emphasis to converging technologies.
1st HBP Curriculum workshop series New horizons in clinical neuroscience: Brain medicine for non-specialists
5-7 July 2017, Innsbruck, Austria
The aim of this interactive workshop is to deepen and complete the online course on brain medicine for non-specialists with the most recent advances in research of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders.
Lectures and tutorials by international experts will report the state of the art of research and treatment of brain diseases. Representatives of the Allen Institute for Brain Science (AI, USA) and the Human Brain Project (HBP, Europe) will present novel avenues for exploiting large biological datasets for future classification of brain diseases, which may lead to new strategies for developing therapeutics.
1st HBP Curriculum workshop series - Understanding the brain: Neurobiology for non-specialists
3-5 July 2017, Innsbruck, Austria
The aim of this interactive workshop is to provide practical insights into basic and translational neuroscience research for interested non-specialists.
The topics addressed range from essential neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, over IPS cells, to networks and behaviour. Plasticity and modulation of networks and signal transmission under physiological (like learning and memory) and pathological situations (like addiction, epilepsy or neurodegeneration) will form an essential part.
