It follows the Commons Science and Technology Committee's inquiry into Government Horizon Scanning, looking at possible improvements in Government's responses on regulation, funding and skills policy in the face of emerging scientific and technological breakthroughs such as graphene, 3D printing and wider advances in renewable energy, transportation systems and telecommunications.

European Youth Digital Summit

28 August 2014, Bucharest, Romania

European Digital Youth Summit (EDYS) will bring together over 100 specialists, young people and representatives of public and academic institutions, NGOs, mass media and companies from 14 countries (France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Croatia, Lithuania, Iceland and Turkey).

The event is organized by GEYC and the Chamber of Deputies under the patronage of the European Parliament and will take place at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest, Romania. The summit will tackle important topics for European young people such as digital behavior and employment, trying to find realistic solutions to raise employability and to encourage digital entrepreneurship. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the most important trends in these fields, to learn about innovative projects and to find out about European opportunities. The event takes place within the framework of the SMARTER project organized by GEYC with the financial support of the European Commission through "Youth in Action".
