Research Priorities for Neglected Infectious Diseases in Africa
1-4 November 2011, Johannesburg, South Africa
This is the second EU regional workshop on research for the control of neglected infectious diseases, following one that was organised in Lima in 2009 and focused on Latin America. The 2011 workshop will concentrate on Africa. The event offers a platform for human and animal health researchers and professionals to debate common challenges and identify key research priorities for the future.
The Sixth EDCTP Forum

The theme of the Forum is "Strengthening Research Partnerships for Better Health and Sustainable Development", taking into account the past, present and the future of EDCTP.
The EDCTP Forum is a biannual conference organised by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) to stimulate debate, present recent advances and highlight latest research results on poverty-related diseases (malaria, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS), in particular stemming from EDCTP-funded projects in Africa.
EU-US Workshop: Challenges and Solutions in the Development of New Diagnostic Tests to Combat Antimicrobial Resistance

US and EU members of the Transatlantic Task Force on Antimicrobial Resistance (TATFAR) are organising a workshop whose aim is to identify factors negatively impacting the development, approval, introduction and appropriate use of new diagnostic tools for invasive bacterial infections in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
IMI Open Info Day – 4th Call for proposals

FP7 Health - Open Information Day & Brokerage event

The European Commission (Research & Innovation DG - Directorate Health) is organizing an Open Information Day on FP7 Health research. The event aims to highlight the novelties in the planning of the 2012 Work Programme due to be published in July. It will provide guidance on proposal preparation and management.
