The EuKTS Consortium will present the results of the “European Knowledge Transfer Society” project (FP7 RTD OMC-NET programme). Based on the results of previous CERT-TTT-M project (FP6 RTD OMC-NET programme) and on relevant international best practices, the project has defined the institutional framework for certification and accreditation underpinned by a model of curriculum for the Knowledge Technology Transfer profession. The EuKTS Framework is designed in order to respond to professional needs at all stages of the KTT career and sectors.

In today’s knowledge society, education can act as a powerful resource to achieve the European goal of social cohesion. Similarly to the field of medicine in which only those treatments that have been proven to be effective when curing a particular disease are implemented, there is a need to identify those educational and social actions that research has shown can reverse social and educational exclusion. In the last 5 years, INCLUD-ED Project researchers have gathered evidences that demonstrate which are the actions that overcome inequalities. They will be presented in the Final INCLUD-ED Conference.

The European Commission is holding its first Innovation Convention following the adoption of the Innovation Union Flagship initiative in October 2010.
This major event will gather more than 1200 participants involved in the innovation chain, including high-level policy makers, leading CEOs, deans of universities and research centres, bankers, venture capitalists, top researchers and innovators.
The programme of the Innovation Convention will include master classes and round tables on innovation, an interactive panel debate with global innovation players and the award of the Women Innovators Prize. A detailed programme as well as the registration page for the event will be put on line in September.

The Group on Earth Observations is a voluntary partnership of governments and international
organizations that is coordinating efforts to build a Global Earth Observation System of Systems
(GEOSS). It provides a framework within which these partners can coordinate their Earth observation strategies and investments, share their data, and develop new projects. In this way, GEO aims to ensure that decision makers have full access to the cross-cutting data and information that they need for addressing critical global issues.
