Brokerage Event Energy Environment

A brokerage event on Energy and Environment is organised by J’innove network, the Regional council of the Nord-Pas de Calais with the support of Entreprise Europe Network and the Tandem Interreg project France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen.
The aim of this event is to connect the research and innovation stakeholders willing to participate at the Energy and Environment challenges of Horizon 2020 framework program. The participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss about their project ideas. This event will allow you to make new contacts and find partners! The brokerage event is also an opportunity to meet European projects experts (research centres, funding opportunities and support for the project) during B2B meetings or in stands. The aim of bilateral meetings (B2B) is to give space to the participants for a discussion about opportunities for collaboration in the field of energy and environment.
European Utility Week 2014

Implementing the Science and Innovation Strategy

The UK Government's Innovation Strategy is due to be released alongside the 2014 Autumn Statement. This timely conference will bring together key policymakers with stakeholders central to the strategy's implementation to discuss the likely impact of the proposals and the challenges for putting policy into practice.
At this early stage we expect topics for discussion to focus on priorities for public spending on science, efforts to boost private investment in R&D and further steps Government can take to support business and university collaboration to increase the commercialisation of UK research. Sessions will also include discussion on the the impact that Government's focus on 'eight great technologies' has had so far and the next steps for developing these technologies in the UK.
11th Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Forum and Exhibition for South-East Europe

Launch of the European Science and Technology Network on Unconventional Hydrocarbon Extraction
8 July 2014, Brussels
The creation of the European Science and Technology Network on Unconventional Hydrocarbon Extraction was decided in the Commission Communication on the exploration and production of hydrocarbons using high-volume hydraulic fracturing in the EU, issued on 22 January 2014.
The network aims to "[bring] together practitioners from industry, research, academia as well as civil society. The Network will collect, analyse and review results from exploration projects as well as assess the development of technologies used in unconventional gas and oil projects".

Energy Systems Integration – a global innovation challenge

Our energy system is very complex. It includes not only renewable, nuclear, and fossil energy sources but also electrical, thermal, and fuel energy pathways that convert, store and deliver energy services at different physical scales.
The integration of various energy sources and vectors in the energy system is a practical challenge with important contributions to security of supply.
The objective of the workshop is to highlight the complementarity of this research area compared with smart grids and storage. It also aims at exploring the added value of the cooperation with international partners.
