To celebrate the end of a successful project after two years of running, MOWE-IT team will present its final findings and recommendations in a series of three Regional Conferences, open to all stakeholders in the field of transport, logistics, risk management and safety, and attended by high-level business and academic experts.

Depending on the location, the conferences will focus on different transport modes at the time:

Workshop on Interoperability and Open-Source Solutions for the Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) can be seen as the next evolutionary step in the Internet life-cycle, with already more than 10 billion connected devices in 2013. We are witnessing the emergence of open-source solutions targeting the IoT and cloud integration which can further drive innovation and provision of utility-driven IoT services.

This workshop aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from industry, academia, and standardisation bodies, to showcase their practical work, exchange ideas and experiences, discuss novel solutions and future development. Workshop participants will also find common ground for collaboration in the area of interoperability for the Internet of Things.

TRAINING ACADEMY “Turning research results into exploitable products and services”

We cordially invite you to the Training Academy on “Turning research results into exploitable products and services”, organized by the EU-funded project TIPS. If you are involved in EU-funded transport research projects, this event is interesting for you as it will provide you with the necessary assistance to allow you to develop your deployment plan for the exploitation of your research results.

The target groups of the event are project coordinators and partners from research projects in the field of transport under the FP7 programme. Thus participants at the training academy will include business representatives, academics, policy makers and other stakeholders involved in these projects.

The 3-day training academy provides information, tools and support for the development of exploitation plans for FP7 transport R&D results. Participants will be trained by experts on exploitation strategies, standardization, intellectual property rights management, public or private funding for market exploitation, business partnership support, opportunities in Horizon 2020.

Metabolism 2014 - Alterations of metabolic pathways as therapeutic targets

As in 2011, our 2014 meeting will be held under the auspices of the European Research Institute for Integrated Cellular Pathology. We will publish two special numbers based on the meetings contributions in Biochemical Pharmacology [1] and in Journal of Cancer Prevention [2]. The conference will focus on novel advances in the field of metabolic pathways related to disease mechanisms and corresponding innovative therapies. Conferences will document recent advances in this topic including neurodegenerative diseases, diabetes, cancer and ageing.
