European Biogas Association Conference
30 September - 2 October 2014, Alkmaar region, The Netherlands
The biannual European Biogas Conference covers a broad range of topics related to biogas, from production to utilisation, with plenty of room for networking between representatives from research, industry and production. There will be an exhibition and a poster session.
Topics include European policy issues, biomethane, digestate use, sustainability of biogas and bioeconomy. With this event we strive to unite biogas experience and share latest information on policies, industry developments, innovation and legislation.
Sustainable Places 2014
1-3 October 2014, Nice, France
Sustainable Places 2014 builds on the successful “ICT for Sustainable Places” conference held in Nice in September 2013. It will focus on energy efficiency at building, district and city levels. The event will be composed of: - the 2nd EC DG CONNECT workshop on eeBuilding Key Performance Indicators - the EuropIA.14 colloquia on Architecture and City Design - presentations & workshops on innovative business models, technologies, modeling and monitoring for sustainable buildings, districts and cities.
Sustainable Places 2014 will enable to access up-to-date information, assess outcomes from the most advanced research & innovation projects, discuss possible synergies, and envision possible standards evolution. It will be a key opportunity for delegates to meet and network with high quality keynote speakers (from CSTB, CEA, Arup, Intel and CalCon), as well as with architects, building designers, energy consultants, and urban planners.
3rd International Conference on Antimicrobial Research - ICAR2014
1-3 October 2014, Madrid
ICAR2014 will be a forum to communicate current research priorities and progress, and to identify new approaches and research opportunities in antimicrobial research.
3rd GRF One Health Summit 2014
5-8 October 2014, Davos, Switzerland
The 3rd GRF One Health Summit will further develop and strengthen the One Health paradigm and its global movement. In particular this 3rd global gathering will focus on the added value of a global One Health approach and a stronger involvement of the private sector and policy.

DoCEIS'14 - 5th Doctoral Conference on Computing, Electrical and Industrial Systems

Technological Innovation for Collective Awareness Systems Innovation and Digital Business Innovation are key pillars in sustainable growth. DoCEIS 2014 focuses on socio-technical systems capable of harnessing collective intelligence for promoting innovation and taking better, informed and sustainability-aware decisions: Collective Awareness Systems.
These systems leverage the emerging "network effect" by combining open social media, distributed knowledge creation and data from real environments ("Internet of Things"), thus linking objects, people and knowledge in order to foster new forms of social and business innovation. DoCEIS 2014 is aimed as an international forum for presentation of research results coming out of PhD works, and a space for discussion of post-graduation studies, PhD thesis plans, and practical aspects of a PhD work.
European Gender Medicine Network (EUGenMed) Kick-off conference

Research addressing Sex and Gender (S&G) in biomedical sciences and health research is a novel and highly promising field. Interaction of S&G related mechanisms leads to different manifestation of frequent diseases such as infarction, heart failure, diabetes, rheumatic disease in women and men. Research in this area will lead to novel, better targeted and therefore more efficient treatment strategies than the previous global approaches and will increase opportunities for prevention and healthy life expectancy.
The European Gender Medicine Project (EUGenMed) will produce an innovative roadmap for implementation of S&G in biomedicine and health research and create a European Gender Health Network. ICRI 2014 - International Conference on Research Infrastructures
2-4 April 2014, Athens
ICRI 2014 is the second International Conference on Research Infrastructures. It offers a high level international forum where key stakeholders can meet, discuss and contribute to bringing forward global issues related to Research Infrastructures.
Co-organised by the European Commission and the Greek EU Presidency of the European Union, the event is expected to attract 600 participants and will include an exhibition of demonstrations and videos of international research infrastructure projects as well as an Art & Science exhibition. ICRI 2014 will highlight the essential role of global research infrastructures in addressing grand challenges, and identify the challenges and drivers for collaboration at an international level in four thematic areas: Marine sciences, cultural heritage, food security and e-science.
Services for Sustainability conference

The conference - organised by the FP7 project SPREE - will provide a platform for stakeholders to voice their vision of whether and how "servicizing" (i.e. the move from selling products to providing services) could be promoted to maximum advantage.
