MOWE-IT Regional Conference

To celebrate the end of a successful project after two years of running, MOWE-IT team will present its final findings and recommendations in a series of three Regional Conferences, open to all stakeholders in the field of transport, logistics, risk management and safety, and attended by high-level business and academic experts.

Depending on the location, the conferences will focus on different transport modes at the time:

Workshop on Interoperability and Open-Source Solutions for the Internet of Things

The Internet of Things (IoT) can be seen as the next evolutionary step in the Internet life-cycle, with already more than 10 billion connected devices in 2013. We are witnessing the emergence of open-source solutions targeting the IoT and cloud integration which can further drive innovation and provision of utility-driven IoT services.

This workshop aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners from industry, academia, and standardisation bodies, to showcase their practical work, exchange ideas and experiences, discuss novel solutions and future development. Workshop participants will also find common ground for collaboration in the area of interoperability for the Internet of Things.

Innovation Convention 2014

10-11 March 2014, Brussels

The 2nd Innovation Convention will take place on 10 and 11 March 2014. The first edition was described as “a creative collusion of some of the world’s brightest people from across all sectors involved in research, innovation and science”. This second edition will be even bigger and better, with over 2000 participants.
It will take place under the patronage of the President of the European Commission, Mr José Manuel Barroso, and will feature inspirational speakers from a range of backgrounds.

Why attend?
For anyone involved in innovation, from the worlds of research and business to those involved in policy making and funding innovation, the Convention will provide an opportunity to:
•    engage in and contribute to the innovation debate with business leaders, top researchers and high-level policy makers;
•    network and share experiences with your peers; and
