The second conference organized by IRDiRC in collaboration with the BGI is gathering stakeholders active in the field of rare disease from across the globe. It will provide unmissable opportunity to network with different rare disease communities from Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. A Basic European Unemployment Insurance

29 September 2014, Vienna

For a link to this event only, use the event permalink

"A basic European unemployment insurance scheme would provide a limited and predictable short-term fiscal stimulus to economies undergoing a downturn in the economic cycle - something that every country is going to experience sooner or later. With its automatic and countercyclical character, a basic European unemployment insurance scheme could boost market confidence in the EMU and thus help to avoid repeating vicious circles of downgrades, austerity and internal devaluation in the eurozone. It would help to uphold domestic demand and therefore economic growth in Europe as a whole."

WWWforEurope lecture by László Andor, Member of the European Commission in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion.

For registration and details: Dr. Margit Schratzenstaller at WIFO, coordinator of WWWforEurope (wwwforeurope-office@wifo.ac.at ) and Domenico Rossetti di Valdalbero, Scientific Officer of WWWforEurope at European Commission, DG RTD (Domenico.Rossetti-di-Valdalbero@ec.europa.eu).

SCOT (Smart CO2 Transformation) is a project to develop the Strategic European Research Agenda aimed at improving the technical and economic performance of emerging CO2 transformation technologies.

It gathers five regions which are strongly committed and already well advanced in this emerging area of CO2 utilization (Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and UK) and it is the first ever European initiative in the field of CO2 utilization strategy. While we prepare our Joint Action Plan and the Strategic Research Agenda, we want to gather stakeholder views on what are the key policy bottlenecks and their potential solutions. Thus, you are invited to register for this event and engage in the discussion.

Natural Products & Biocontrol 2014

24-26 September 2014, Perpignan, France

For a link to this event only, use the event permalink

The activity of biocontrol products depend on numerous biotic interactions implying secondary metabolisms. The Natural Products and Biocontrol Congress covers the whole research about the natural components involved in biocontrol processes.

The natural compounds involved in interactions are exogene to the plant (active components of a vegetal extract, microbial metabolite, pheromons) or endogene (produced by a plant in response of an elicitor). Therefore the Congress also covers the research in the vegetal response to elicitors and phytostimulus. It is opened to scientists, technicians, industrials whose research are centred on biocontrol and natural products. The main points of the event open conferences, scientific presentations (spoken or displayed), one to one , discussions.
