Smart, Green and Integrated Transport Information Day, save the date!

2 February 2015, Brussels

To support the preparation of proposals, DG RTD's Transport Directorate of the is organising an Information Day on Monday 2 February 2015 from 9 AM untill 6 PM in the European Commission Charlemagne building, rue de la Loi 170, in Brussels.

The aim of the day is to inform potential participants in the next round of calls under the Smart, Green and Integrated Transport Challenge of the new Horizon 2020 Framework Programme and to offer opportunities for networking.

The sessions will deliver a brief presentation of the surface transport, the aviation and the cross-cutting topics of the Transport challenge Work Programme 2015.

Information will be given on the Evaluation Guidelines and on the legal and financial Rules for Participation covering all aspects from the submission of a proposal to the signature of a grant agreement.

The participants will have the opportunity to address specific technical questions related to the Work Programme 2015 to European Commission's project officers.

Information Day & Brokerage event on Horizon 2020 – Smart Cities and Communities 2015 Work Programme

12 February 2015, Brussels, Belgium

A new call for proposals for Smart Cities and Communities under Horizon 2020 opened on 10 December 2014 (deadline for submitting proposals is 5 May 2015). It calls for proposals in two topics: SCC-01-2015: Smart Cities and Communities solutions integrating energy, transport and ICT sectors through lighthouse (large scale demonstration – first of the kind) projects and SCC-03-2015: Development of system standards for smart cities and communities solutions.

The information day will take place in the morning and will:

  • Inform participants about the call objectives, requirements and specificities
  • Provide relevant insights and lessons learnt from the 2014 SCC call.

In the afternoon, a brokerage event will provide a chance for people to discuss, exchange ideas, network and meet potential partners to create new or strengthen existing consortia. Participation in the event is free of charge but registration is compulsory and applications will be dealt with on a “first come, first served” basis.

Please note that registration is already open and will remain open until 10 January 2015.

Optics dissemination event - Aviation safety R&I: Time to take-off!

17-18 December 2014, Brussels, Belgium

The two-day event will be devoted to reviewing the Safety R&I priorities in aviation (Day 1) and raising awareness of the impact of key safety R&I projects (Day 2). This event is an opportunity to discuss Safety R&I priorities with other key experts and decision-makers, and to influence future strategic priorities of the EC and ACARE. We look forward to your participation.

CSCESM2014: International Conference on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Social Media

12-14 December 2014, Thessaloniki, Greece

The International Conference on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Social Media (CSCESM2014) will be held over three days, with presentations delivered by researchers from the international community, including presentations from keynote speakers and state-of-the-art lectures.

All registered papers will be included in SDIWC Digital Library, and in the proceedings of the conference. All submitted papers will be reviewed by a minimum of two reviewers. The published proceedings will be indexed in ResearchBib ProQuest, and Google Scholar Databases, in addition, they will be reviewed for possible inclusion within the INSPEC, EI, DBLP, Microsoft Academic Research, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar Databases.


SCINTILLA Final Public Workshop

11-12 December 2014, Ispra, Italy (JRC)

The SCINTILLA Public Workshop is the closing event of the SCINTILLA Project - a FP7 Security Project related to nuclear detection. Project partners, other projects, the European Commission, end users and technology developpers will be present to discuss the last benchmark campaigns results (including over 10 developers), the overall results of SCINTILLA, security concerns and future perspectives.
