INFuture2013: Information Governance

The Future of Information Sciences (INFuture) is a series of biannual international conferences aimed at researchers and professionals from the broad field of information and communication sciences and related professions. The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for discussing both theoretical and practical issues in information organization and information integration.

The EU Horizon 2020 Programme and Teaming for Excellence in the European Research Area

Hystera Launch Seminar

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the University of Bergen (NO) will give jointly a half day seminar on the important lessons to be learned for research policy from the history, philosophy and sociology of science.
The objectives of the seminar are:
• to present the historical developments that permitted the fundamental assumptions to come to life and to governing,
• how to integrate and adapt them in our modern reality,
• how to organize the European Research Area (ERA) in the light of the past experience.

DEF 2013 and Digital Futures Workshop

The 2013 edition of the annual event of the Digital Enlightenment Forum (DEF) will take place from September 18 to 20, 2013 at Egmont Palace in Brussels on the theme “Personal data and citizenship in the digital society”.
The event includes, on September 20, a “Digital Futures Workshop” on the theme “The future of personal data and citizenship”, co-hosted by the Digital Enlightenment Forum and the Digital Futures Task Force of European Commission’s DG CONNECT. In line with DEF’s overall objectives, the event aims at informed, challenging and yet open dialogue, seeking to understand how business, institutions and governments can become more effective and fit-to-purpose through relationships with digitally empowered individuals. The focus is on finding game-changing solutions that stimulate innovation and sustainable evolution, and are therefore beneficial to all. We welcome all persons from science, technology, law, industry and policy who are interested and can contribute to the debate and policy developments on Personal Data and Citizenship in the Digital Society.
