Industrial Biotechnology in Italy. Identifying Hurdles and Opportunities
24 October 2013, Naples, Italy
The BIO-TIC partners, in collaboration with Assobiotec, are pleased to invite you to half a day workshop for an in-depth discussion with experts and multiple stakeholders across different value chains on how to overcome barriers for innovation in industrial biotechnology in Europe. Draft roadmaps outlining market potential, technological bottlenecks and non-technical barriers have already been developed through a preliminary literature review.
This workshop session aims to validate these roadmaps and identify:
- What are the barriers to the deployment of IB in Italy and Europe, and what can we do to overcome them?
- Are there any particular factors which make Italy a good place to establish or grow the IB industry?
In the workshop, we would like to share our knowledge with you and receive your recommendations. We would particularly like to hear your thoughts on what the most important barriers are and what innovations are, or could be developed, to overcome these barriers.
This workshop is one of a series of eight workshops to be held in 2013/14 throughout Europe. The results of these workshops will be incorporated into the draft roadmaps and will be supplemented with the results of one-on-one interviews. Your involvement will provide an opportunity to influence, shape and guide future regulatory and funding frameworks (e.g. BRIDGE PPP in HORIZON 2020), through your experience of the current landscape, your views and opinions on the key hurdles affecting your business and the current and future enablers encouraging the uptake of biotech innovation. It will be organized after the 2-days workshop “IFIB 2013, the Italian Forum on Industrial Biotechnology and Bioeconomy from biotechnology new resources for industry”.
To register, please fill in the form here.
