SARTRE (Safe Road Trains for the Environment) aims to encourage a step change in personal transport usage through the development of safe environmental road trains, or 'platoons': a convoy of vehicles where a professional driver in a lead vehicle drives a line of other vehicles. All vehicles are totally detached and can leave the convoy at any time. Once in the platoon, drivers can relax and do other things while the platoon proceeds towards its long haul destination. This final workshop will include a demonstration of platooning with five vehicles on a test track, a simulator and other project results, as well as host stakeholder discussions.
11-12 September 2012, Hohenheim University Stuttgart, Germany
Following the UN International Strategy for Disaster Reduction recommendations and starting from shared existing knowledge and practices, this conference aims at presenting innovative tools and integrated cost effective methodologies to mitigate risks from various hazards on active volcanoes (prevention, crisis management and recovering).
The focus is more particularly put on integrating tools. This concerns interdisciplinary integration between different domains (e.g. inputs of social approaches in risk mapping methodologies) but also integration between the three different phases of risk management (e.g. Information System designed to be used both for risk mapping and crisis management).
This conference serves as final workshop of the FP7 MIAVITA project.
