Re-Road final conference
13 November 2012, Brussels
The majority (90%) of European paved roads are paved with asphalt material. At the end of the service lifetime of a road, when the damaged road pavement can no longer fulfil its purpose as a comfortable carrier of traffic, it must be renewed. While asphalt is nearly 100% recyclable, the routine use of recycled asphalt in road construction projects can be as little as 10% in some European countries. The EU-funded Re-Road project has focused on innovative technologies and end of life strategies for asphalt road infrastructures.
