The 11th edition of Green Week, the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, will take place from 24 to 27 May 2011. This year's theme is "Resource Efficiency - Using less, living better". The Research & Innovation DG will be present with sessions and a stand to showcase how research and innovation help tackle the challenge of resource depletion and scarcity.

The course is arranged for young researchers/PhD students in the field of catalysis and material synthesis. The main focus is catalyst preparation, characterization and separation, but should also be a valuable supplement for researchers focusing on catalyst testing. it has been organized by SINTEF for the EU project, OCMOL.

On Saturday 7 May, the Research and Innovation DG will be represented at the Open Days of the European Commission at the Berlaymont building from 10am to 6pm.
This year, the Research and Innovation DG will present and promote the Innovation Union on our common stand with the Information Society DG.
For the occasion, we will offer several activities for visitors of all ages! So come and find us at the centre of the Berlaymont building!
11-15 April 2011, Brussels, Charlemagne building
Growing year on year and now into its fifth edition, the European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is the reference event for sustainable energy issues in Europe. To date more than 120 events are already planned during the Week in Brussels and some other 270 across Europe. And this number is growing by the day.
EUSEW 2011 is likely to attract more than 20 000 participants from across Europe and beyond. The Week will largely focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in Europe with a significant portion of the programme dedicated to the European energy market and smart electricity grids.
The European Commission will present information on European research in the Charlemagne building.
10-11 March 2011, Düsseldorf
The conference invites researchers and entrepreneurs from North Rhine-Westphalia and partner regions in Europe to find new European R&D partners for FP7 projects.
The first events in 2009 and 2010 were a great success with over 450 participants. In 2011, partner regions are: Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland and Russia.
The networking event will be structured in parallel brokerage sessions focusing on three topics:
